Icelandic soprano Hrund Osk Arnadottir is based in Berlin and performs internationally as a freelance artist. Her repertoire spans Mozart, Verdi, Wagner, and Richard Strauss, combining lyrical flexibility, dramatic expression, and a radiant upper register.

She gained particular attention for her portrayal of the Empress in Richard Strauss's Die Frau ohne Schatten at Neuköllner Oper Berlin. Critics praised her "lyrically blossoming, seemingly endless upper register" (Online Merker), her "high-powered voice" (Kultura Extra), and her ability to master the demanding role with "technique, stamina, and charisma" (Neue Musikzeitung). Opera Today compared the silvery quality of her upper register and her stage presence to those of the legendary Leonie Rysanek.

Born in Aalborg, Denmark, Arnadottir began her vocal studies at the Reykjavík Academy of Singing and Vocal Arts before completing her Master's degree at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin under the guidance of Professor Janet Williams. During her studies, she worked with then-General Director of Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Jürgen Flimm, on the role of Fiordiligi in Mozart's Così fan tutte and performed the title role of Anna Politkovskaya in Neue Szenen at Deutsche Oper Berlin.

Since her debut at Neuköllner Oper in 2016, she has appeared in numerous productions, including Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Elvira in Giovanni – eine Passion, and Die Weise von Liebe und Tod after Rainer Maria Rilke. Her portrayal of the Empress in Richard Strauss's Die Frau ohne Schatten in 2023 marked a significant turning point in her artistic development, leading her increasingly toward the lyric-spinto and Jugendlich-Dramatisch repertoire. Since then, she has devoted particular attention to the works of Richard Strauss, Richard Wagner, and Giuseppe Verdi, steadily expanding her repertoire in this direction.

Her distinctions include Third Prize at the Komitas International Singing Competition and a semi-finalist placement at the Elizabeth Connell Prize. Current and upcoming repertoire highlights include Elisabeth (Tannhäuser), Leonora (Il Trovatore), Tosca, and further roles within the Wagner, Strauss, and Verdi repertoire.

During the 2026/27 season, she appears as Brünnhilde in the children's adaptation of Wagner's Ring des Nibelungen with Taschenoper Lübeck.
